Several drawings in the same project
Put in one file per floor and jump between the plans without losing what you have taken off.
- 1
Add the next drawing
If the project has only one drawing, press the plus button next to the file name at the top — it is called Add drawing (“Lägg till ritning”). If the strip of drawings is showing under the canvas, the same button sits there.
- 2
Set the scale on the new drawing
A new drawing comes in without a scale and the tool jumps to Scale (“Skala”). Two drawings in the same job are rarely printed at the same scale, so the scale is deliberately not inherited.
- 3
Switch plan in the strip under the canvas
Every box in the strip Drawings (“Ritningar”) is a plan. Click a box to put it on the canvas. A PDF with several pages gets one box per page.
- 4
Put the drawings in the order the job goes
Drag a drawing in the strip and drop it where it belongs. The order carries through to the export, where each drawing gets a column of its own — so the columns come out in the same order as the plans.
Worth knowing. It is the whole drawing that moves, not a single page. A PDF with several pages stays together.
- 5
Rename a drawing
The file name from the computer rarely says anything — DWG_export_v3_FINAL. Press the pencil on the drawing in the strip and write what it actually is: Plan 2, Garage, Section A.
Worth knowing. The name is what stands as the column heading in the export, so it is worth setting before you send anything.
- 6
Fold the strip away when you need the height
Press Drawings (“Ritningar”) and the strip folds down to a single row that says Show drawings (“Visa ritningar”). The choice stays put until the next time you open the tool.
- 7
Draw on the plan that is up
Everything you draw belongs to the plan showing on the canvas. Switch plan and what you drew stays on its own.
- 8
Read the quantities as a single list
The bill of quantities adds up everything you have drawn on every plan, not just the one showing right now.
Worth knowing. A project holds at most 20 drawings.
- 9
Give the drawing the whole screen when it gets tight
Press Full screen (“Helskärm”) bottom right by the zoom buttons. The tool rail and the panel slide in when you move the mouse towards the edge. Press Exit (“Avsluta”) to come back.
